
Refrigeration Service Technician Apprentice at Kelvin Group

Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior technicians with routine maintenance, contractual planned maintenance contract work and emergency service work.
- Learn how to complete service reports for planned service and maintenance contracts as necessary for Service Coordinator follow-up action.
- Assist senior technicians with commercial/industrial refrigeration system and equipment troubleshooting, including controls systems, for customer facility issues. Work on split systems holding 80 plus lbs. of refrigerant, chillers, packaged units, and control systems.
- Ability to work with tablet-based service ticket software system to complete service tasks assigned in daily Work Orders (WO).
- Prepare and submit service Work Order recommendation forms daily so to RD&S Service Coordinators can review for scheduling.
- Submit all time / Work Order reports daily, including accurate reporting of new materials required for additional work order assignment. Assure all receipts for reimbursable expenses accompany the Work Order.
- Ensure Service Coordinator has proper information to complete Work Orders for client billing in an accurate and timely manner. Close work orders out as soon as completed; Keep appropriate notes on system pertaining to the job; work to resolve open issues with service manager as needed.
- Be dignified, courteous, clean and in RD&S provided apparel when working in / at client facilities or when otherwise interacting with the clients.
- Maintain current licenses required to perform the specified service.
- Perform other duties as required by service leads and service manager.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- High School degree and technical/trade school certificate in refrigeration.
- Must complete all required safety and equipment training to perform the services RD&S offers to clients.
- Must possess excellent customer service skills and have a strong drive to learn and grow in the refrigeration service field.
- Trained/certified to operate a lull, scissor lift and forklift truck.
- EPA certification is required.
- OSHA 10 hour certification will be provided.
- Ammonia awareness and HAZWOPER training required
- A valid driver’s license is required.
