ABOUT THE POSITION
OAM + i’move is seeking a Medical Equipment Fitting Specialist to join our DME team. This role is responsible for all aspects of durable medical equipment (DME) and providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced, ever- changing, and multitasking environment. This position interacts closely with patients and a multidisciplinary team in a highly organized and professional manner. Ensures an exceptional patient experience is achieved by displaying effective customer service, problem solving and communication skills in a friendly, thoughtful, and empathetic manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Attend and participate in meetings with Supervisor on oversight of DME program.
- Attending DME product and fitting training as scheduled.
- Present Medicare updates and new product Development as it pertains to DME Coordinator Assistant.
- Obtains authorization, as required by insurance company, for all products.
- Uploads authorization into patient EMR to ensure appropriate record maintenance.
- Follows up on all “pending” authorizations, and provides any additional information as requested, in a timely manner.
- Maintains accurate, legal, and ethical documentation at all times.
- Provides patients with basic information and instruction regarding DME products.
- Assist the DME coordinator with inventory, brace fitting, EMR orders, charge entry, Medicare compliance.
- Act as a resource for product to staff and physicians.
- Customer relations and retail sales.
- Check patients in and out as needed.
- Becomes knowledgeable in all areas of DME billing and payment. This includes insurance updates, eligibility, cash and carry, and advanced beneficiary notice. Includes tracking new product procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned including a variety of clerical functions.
Requirements
- Skills & Competencies: Proficiency in the comprehension and application of contemporary bracing and Durable Medical Equipment (DME) products
- Education & Experience: Graduate of accredited Athletic Training program with current Athletic Trainer licensure/certification (ATC)
- Physical Requirements: Standing and Walking: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 6-8 hours per shift).
