Indirect Tax Manager

In this position based at our head office in Mulgrave, Victoria, you will join a high performing Tax team and be responsible for assisting with tax compliance and advisory work.

Key duties & responsibilities:

  • Having a strong focus on ensuring tax compliance at a transactional level under the Direct Sale model - Retail of the Future.
  • Manage all indirect tax compliance, lodgements and reporting requirements in all relevant operational jurisdictions, including GST/foreign VAT, Luxury Car Tax, Fringe Benefits Tax, Stamp Duty.
  • Provide tax technical input into ERP system integrity and enhancements.
  • Provide strategic and operational contributions towards managing, responding to, and resolving tax authority audits or risk reviews.
  • Strengthen the design and operating effectiveness of tax internal controls through continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Contributing to month end processes, particularly determination of tax accruals and other relevant tax calculations.

 


What you need to apply:

  • CA or CPA qualified
  • 5 years’ experience at either a professional services firm or large corporate
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Digital and data analytics are big for us, so a personal interest in this area is also an advantage.
  • Strong time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities focused on timely delivery and quality results.
  • Commercial mindset with a collaborative approach to getting the best outcome aligned to compliance.
  • Ability to explain tax issues to non-financial stakeholders.
