Reports to: Facilities Manager FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Summary: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for repairing and maintaining building, conveyor and other mechanical systems within the facility.
Essential Functions: To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of this position:
Repair and maintain machinery, equipment, physical structures, and plumbing
and electrical systems using multi-meters, hand tools and power tools
Dismantle machines or equipment, replaces defective parts, and motors, and adjusts feed
mechanisms.
Cleans and lubricates machine parts, such as shafts, pulleys, gears, and bearings, using rags, brushes, grease gun, and oil can.
Replaces or repairs machine belts.
Removes dust, dirt, grease, and waste material from machines.
Bends and cuts conduit and wire for electrical connections.
Connects wire to motors, fixtures, and other electrical equipment, replaces switches and
fuses, and splices wire.
Maintains and repairs lift truck equipment.
Bend, cut, and thread pipe.
Builds, Maintains, and repairs worktables, benches, shelves, and other furnishings, using power tools and hand tools.
Patches or replaces plaster or drywall and paints walls, ceilings, and trim of building.
Clears clogged drains and replaces plumbing fixtures. May operate welding machine to repair or join metal parts.
Occasionally running errands using the company van.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- High School diploma, GED equivalent or 5-year experience in related field
- Must possess valid driver’s license.
- Hydraulic & Pneumatic Experience
-Proficient Knowledge of : Mechanical, Electrical, Blueprint Reading, Electrical
Schematics Reading, Arc Welding & Cutting
Forklift Operation and Repair
Work safely adhering to established safety procedures
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule based on business needs.
Physical Requirements: The requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee:
- Must be able to stand up to 10 hours in a day.
- Must be able to walk up to 8 hours.
- Will continuously reach up and out.
- Will occasionally climb.
- Will occasionally push/pull from 11 to 75 pounds.
- Will frequently bend, stoop, reach up and out, crouch, kneel, and push/pull from 35 to 50 pounds.
- Will frequently lift to 50 pounds and occasionally lift to 75 pounds.
- Will occasionally have repetitive foot movement.
- Will frequently have repetitive hand/arm movements for simple reaching, simple and firm grasping and/or fine hand manipulation.
- Specific vision ability required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- Regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects; and reach with hands and arms.
- Must be able to wear gloves occasionally.
Language Skills:
Must have communication skills in English, both written and verbally. Ability to speak
with all levels of the organization. Bi-Lingual in Spanish a plus. Ability to read and
interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and
procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports.
Mathematical Skills:
Must be proficient in mathematics. Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to
multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of
American money and weight measurements, volume, and distance.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in
written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete
variables in standardized situations.
Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
· The work performed is in a factory environment
· The employee is frequently exposed to vibrations and dust, and will be working around moving machinery
· The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate at low decibels
· Must be able to work in a fast paced, team environment
