Areas of Responsibility Responsible for monitoring the behavior and activities of students experiencing behavioral or social difficulties; reports any concerns regarding the health, safety, or well-being of a student to the appropriate party. Serves as a positive role model; utilizes approved behavior modification techniques to help students learn desirable behaviors; provides positive reinforcement and support to students. Conducts and participates in basic academic and behavioral activities. Assists in the planning and implementation of individual plans; supports student goals, and encourages and assists students in achieving their goals.
Education/Qualifications: Experience working with children who display behavioral difficulties. ? 1-2 years of childcare or ABA experience; OR, BA/BS in progress or completed in psychology, special education, communicative disorders, occupational therapy, or related field. Experience with individuals with Autism is preferred. ? Ability to pass background/fingerprint clearance, health screenings, and provide/obtain immunizations. ? Reliable transportation. ? Ability to build relationships with students, creative, and adaptive to all situations. ? Knowledgeable in de-escalation strategies for students with a variety of social/emotional concerns. ? Knowledgeable in data collection and implementing Behavior Intervention Plans preferred. ? Ability to run, kneel, crouch, or crawl for long periods of time. Full mobility with no restrictions/limitations required. ? De-escalation and restraint training/certification is preferred; however, training will be provided.
Roles and Responsibilities: -When necessary, the BT will be a member of their assigned building’s Team H and will respond to crises when they arise. -Schedule noncontingent resets for students in need. -Monitor the referral process for student resets and behavioral observations. -Under the direction of the BCBA, BTs will work with special education case managers and monitor student behavior and graph data as directed and trained. -Under the direction of the BCBA, BTs will review Tier 1-2 behavior interventions with classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, and administrators. Support classroom teachers with behavioral situations. -Data collection as determined by the BCBA and/or Director or her designee. -Under the direction of the BCBA BTs will help monitor behavior plans, train staff on plan implementation, deliver reinforcement in the classrooms, and run scheduled resets.
Salary: $21.00 per hour, inclusive of 197 student days across 12 months (school year and ESY).
