Senior Accountant at Evapco

We are currently looking for a Senior Accountant for our Taneytown plant and corporate operations in our global finance team located in Taneytown, Maryland.

The Finance department is located in our corporate headquarters and includes Accounting, Credit, Treasury, Product Costing and FP&A.  Our business is separated into products which are built in our factories and shipped to customers along with products manufactured on-site for the construction industry, most commonly in the power generation sector.  Our goal is to provide exceptional and accurate service to our internal and external customers and sales representatives in support of these operations.

The Senior Accountant - Taneytown is one of our two senior accountants. They are responsible for the accounting of our on-site manufacturing location in Taneytown, as well as the accounting for our corporate Headquarters.

Responsibilities:

• Manage A/P functions – staff of 4 who perform functions for all US locations.
• Compile and analyze financial information to prepare monthly financial statements.
• Prepare financial statement for the MD location.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
• Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures.
• Support performance of annual financial statement audit with external auditors.
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Assist with Sales and Use Tax Audits.
• Support Controller with special projects and workflow process improvements.
• Implement and oversee ongoing workflow process improvements.
• Maintain professional education and oversee staff development and continuing education.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• Master’s or CPA preferred, not required
• Minimum 3 years' experience in accounting
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Must be highly skilled in use of MS Office, especially Microsoft Excel
• Must have an excellent work ethic, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to meet deadlines
• Willingness to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization
• Strong organizational and analytical skills
