About this role

This role is responsible for overseeing and managing the verification of benefits process ensuring efficient, accurate policy reviews and effectively handling referral complexities. Obtaining accurate benefits is the first step in the financial process meaning accuracy is key as it determines patient responsibility and our ability to get reimbursed for services.

Responsibilities 

  • Ensuring our census do not have any Coordination of Benefit denials in our Billing system
  • Monitoring termed insurance in the billing system, ensuring all our clients have active insurance
  • Monitoring Admitted clients with Coordination of Benefit denials ensuring they update their COB with insurance to prevent further denials
  • Working with Commercial Strategy regarding claims denials/trends
  • Work Coordination of Benefit for payers requesting a refund
  • Working reports for charges that will not transfer to our billing system via SalesForce

Requirements

  • 3-5 years related work experience in health care administrative, financial, insurance, customer services, claims, billing, call center, or management
  • Knowledge of medical billing practices, office policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of all confidentiality requirements regarding patients and strict maintenance of proper confidentiality on all such information
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain a high level of integrity and confidentiality of medical information
  • Strict attention to details
