The Sr Welder plays a crucial role in fabricating, assembling, and welding components used in the oil and gas industry. This position requires a skilled individual with a strong background in welding techniques, precision work, and adherence to safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Perform tungsten carbide welding, dress and redress stabilizers, mills, rotary shoes, cutting knives and other related fishing tool equipment
- Fuse metals to produce specific products and provide support to services operations
- Weld metal components together to fabricate or repair products according to layouts, blueprints, or work orders, using brazing and a variety of arc and gas welding equipment
- Weld metal parts together, utilizing both gas welding or brazing and any combination of arc welding processes
- Perform related tasks, such as thermal cutting and grinding
- Repair broken or cracked parts, fill holes, and increase size of metal parts
- Position and clamp together components of fabricated metal products preparatory to welding
- Maintain needed supplies and order as necessary with prior approval
- Be available to work on a 24-hour basis
- Understand and comply with Weatherford Quality Policy, Quality Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures, and Workplace Instructions
- Understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford
- Carry out work assignments to the highest quality level
- Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of related experience
- Experience in carbide welding
- Experience within a fabrication environment
- Overhead crane operating experience
- Experience in welding/grinding downhole tools
- Ability to read engineering drawings
- Flexibility and adaptability to adjust to the demands of the oil industry
Preferred Qualifications
- Brazing experience
