POSITION OVERVIEW
The Operations Aide staff will provide overall supervision and support in the residential program to ensure the seamless and safe operations of the facility, client schedule, and client transportation to and from all scheduled appointments.
KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Responsible for the operations of the facility to promote safety, security, and adherence to the program schedule for clients and staff.
- Facilitates and engages clients in individual and group educational discussions essential to daily living skills, including personal hygiene, learning new task or skills and similar information about important life skill.
- Coordinates and verifies client movement throughout the facility including to and from restrooms, classrooms, activity room, program outdoor spaces, and all off-site/outdoor events, activities and appointments.
- Reports incidents, accidents, and clients concerns or problems to appropriate management and clinical staff.
- Documents status of facility in proper logbook.
- Monitors clients conduct and overall behavior during tour of duty.
- Searches and distributes client’s property and mail while conducting inspections for contraband according to established organizational policy.
- Conducts crisis intervention techniques to client’s exhibiting disruptive/unusual behavior.
- Engages “de-escalation” intervention with client’s exhibiting acting-out behaviors.
- Conducts rounds on an hourly basis to assess clients conduct plus ensure the ongoing safety and cleanliness of the facility.
- Attends and participates in all required educational trainings to develop skills and techniques.
- Remains on duty always until assigned relief arrives.
- Assist in the implementation of program operations improvements and treatment upgrades including policy changes, room reassignments, etc.
- Other duties as assigned within the scope of operations functional duties.
REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or GED, required.
- One (1) year related counseling experience in Substance Abuse/Mental Health (Preferred)
- Obtain within six months of hire:
- Supporting Recovery with Medications Addictions Treatment (MAT)
- Obtain within thirty days of hire:
- Justice Center Code of Conduct Training
- Confidentiality related to 42CFR (3 Hours)
- Mandated reporter (2 hours)
- Excellent organizational, reporting, recordkeeping skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
- Ability to organize and maintain detailed records; complete necessary paperwork and meet deadlines.
- Ability to make decisions based on education preparation and experience, which reflect consistency with Agency philosophy, policies and procedures, standards of care and review body requirements.
- Bilingual – Spanish speaking a plus.
