Summary of Position:

 

The Quality Team Member ensures all required parts, products and processes are held to the highest quality standards.  The Quality Team Member performs inspections, material handling, and rework tasks in a fast paced, repetitive bench or line operation to support the production of automotive seat systems in a multi-step processing using a variety of tools and equipment with many parts and details and where tolerances are specific.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain highest quality of all parts, products and always finished goods
  • Perform layered audit and quality checks as needed throughout the entire cycle of the seat process and all the included parts.
  • Inspect finished product(s) before sending to next department or holding area
  • Ability to review parts and make determinations if they pass/fail the quality standards
  • Write detailed quality reports, track parts and scrap as required.
  • Review production or processing issues with the Supervisors as needed
  • Work with various departments’ Group Leaders and Managers in setting and monitoring product standards, examining samples of raw products or directing testing during processing, to ensure finished products are of prescribed quality
  • Assist in the set-up and calibration of gauging and measuring devices; train floor associates on using gauges and measuring devices
  • Package finished products and prepared them for shipment as needed.
  • Performs any variety of operational tasks and workstations within the Quality Department to maintain positive flow of work.
  • Adhere to 5S to keep work site clean and orderly consistently improving appearance of the team’s area. Active in following 5s—Sort, Set, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain organization of work area.
  • Collaborate with Team Members, Team Leaders, Group Leaders and/or other members of Hyundai Transys to be active contributors to the team.
  • Attending all required training as assigned.
  • Comply with and promote company practices and policies in all areas including Safety, Standards of Conduct, Quality, Performance, and Communication.
  • Be flexible in work to support continuous improvement activities that will ensure personal and company growth.

Position Requirements and Qualifications

  • 1+ year of manufacturing inspection experience is preferred 
  • Previous job-related experience in automotive or manufacturing / industrial environment preferred

 

Technical/ Computer Skills:

  • Proficient skills in math, reading and writing
