As the Chief of Staff to the VP of Advanced Development at Hermeus, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation, clear communications, and strategic alignment across the company. You will work directly with the VP, collaborating with the senior leadership team to drive organizational success. This position requires exceptional communication, leadership, strategic, and analytical skills, along with the ability to navigate a dynamic and rapidly scaling startup environment.

Responsibilities
Create unified situational awareness across the senior leadership team through efficient gathering of business-wide context on a regular basis.
Conduct in-depth research and analysis to provide insights into market trends, competitive landscape, and emerging opportunities.
Assist the VP in making high-quality decisions quickly by providing comprehensive data, preparing reports, and facilitating strategic discussions.
Facilitate information flow between the VP, senior leadership team, and the rest of the company, promoting transparency and efficiency.
Build, facilitate, and maintain critical communication channels throughout the business including Board of Directors meetings, Senior Leadership Team meetings, business reviews, offsites, planning sessions, and all-hands meetings
Prepare and maintain high-impact presentations, memos, and communications in support of the VP for both internal and external audiences.
Own special projects within the Office of the VP, ensuring efficient timely execution
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver on special projects, identifying challenges, risks, and areas for improvement
Monitor project progress, identify and track key insights, and provide regular updates to the VP and senior leadership team.
Develop an intimate understanding of the entire business, along with the founders’ mindset and perspective
Drive personal professional growth toward future leadership roles in the company
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field
Proven experience in a leadership role, preferably within the aerospace or technology industry.
Demonstrated leadership capabilities and the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
Additional Requirements
Ability to work with databases, basic code and data analytics
Strong understanding of the defense technology industry, especially market dynamics, value proposition of non-traditional defense contractors, and working with the Department of Defense.
Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.
Proven project management skills through delivering on multiple projects simultaneously.
High level of integrity, maturity, and professionalism.
