Your Day-to-Day: As a Delivery Driver, your role involves setting up and preparing small equipment for customer deliveries. Your responsibilities will include:
- Setting up and prepping small equipment for customer delivery
- Driving a company vehicle to transport material from the warehouse to customers, to pick up items from various locations and fulfilling transfers
- Unloading freight from trucks and trailers using manual and motorized equipment
- Comparing goods received and packing slips for order accuracy, inspecting for any damage, and notifying your supervisor of any discrepancies
- Scanning or entering products into the inventory control system or related computer program
- Using manual or motorized equipment to transport inventory between the warehouse and store locations
- Accurately picking items from customers’ orders, shipping orders, or requisitions, preparing shipments, and loading products onto trucks, trailers, or customers’ vehicles
- Loading, unloading, and organizing merchandise
- Maintaining a clean and organized warehouse to ensure accessibility and safety
- Maintaining a safe and secure work environment by adhering to and striving to improve safety standards and reporting suspicious activity
- Various warehouse tasks to support all sales distribution points
- Maintaining consistent and adequate stock of products on the sales floor and warehouse shelves in a neat and orderly condition
- Participating in scheduled inventory events (physical inventory counts, etc.)
- Preparing shipments for customers or other Acme Tools locations
- Helping with property maintenance (lawn care, snow removal, etc.)
- Completing related tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
- Eligible to be an Intrastate CMV Driver (valid Driver’s License, 18+ years old, clean driving record, and ability to obtain a med card)
- Experience driving a commercial box truck
- Excellent customer service skills
- Knowledge of tools and equipment
- Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new software
Physical Requirements
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Stand and walk for the duration of your shift
- Frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach
