Summary/Objective
The Cardiac Cath Lab Licensed Vocational Nurse is responsible for the provision of safe and effective care post invasive or non-invasive special procedure(s) in the Cardiac Cath Lab post moderate sedation until transfer or discharge.

- Assists in the recovery process for patients following cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology procedures, PCI, pacemaker/ICD implantation, and other cardiovascular interventions, ensuring individualized and safe care throughout the post-procedural period.
Performs focused assessments including vital signs, neurological checks, sedation level, pain level, and vascular access site evaluation to monitor recovery progress and identify potential complications such as bleeding, arrhythmias, or allergic reactions.
Administer medications as prescribed by the physician, under the supervision of an RN. Maintain continuous cardiac monitoring, and respond to changes in patient condition with prompt intervention, including activation of emergency protocols as needed.
Ensure integrity of vascular access sites by applying pressure dressings, managing closure devices, and monitoring for bleeding, swelling, or hematoma formation to prevent complications.
Educate under the supervision of the RN, patients and families on post-procedural care, warning signs, medications, activity limitations, and follow-up needs.
Accurately document all focused assessments, interventions, medications, and patient responses in the EMR.
Required Education and Experience
Graduate of an accredited nursing program
2 - 4 years related experience
Required License/Certifications
Current LVN licensure in the state of Texas
BLS certification
ACLS certification
