Make an Impact as a Quality Control Inspector!
At our AISC-certified facility in Cocoa Beach, FL, you'll have the opportunity to play a key role in upholding the highest standards of quality in structural steel fabrication. As a Quality Control Inspector, you will perform daily inspections of fabricated materials and weldments, ensuring compliance with AWS D1.1, D1.5, and AISC standards. You’ll work closely with production teams to identify and resolve issues, document non-conformances, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
What You'll Do
Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections of structural steel products.
Conduct weld inspections in accordance with AWS D1.1 (Structural Welding – Steel) and D1.5 (Bridge Welding Code).
Verify welder qualifications and welding procedure specifications (WPS/PQR).
Ensure correct interpretation of fabrication drawings, welding symbols, and GD&T.
Confirm material traceability and documentation for incoming and outgoing parts.
Identify, document, and assist in resolving non-conformances and quality issues.
Oversee and/or support NDT methods such as VT, MT, PT, and UT.
Participate in AISC QC audits and maintain compliance with ISO 9001 standards.
Maintain inspection equipment and calibration records.
Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for process optimization.
What You Bring
Minimum 5–10 years of experience in structural steel inspection and fabrication.
Strong knowledge of AWS D1.1, D1.5, and AISC standards.
Familiarity with CWI certification (preferred but not required).
Experience with inspection tools including CMM, Faro Arm, and hardness testing.
Proficiency in reading complex blueprints and weld symbols.
Understanding of ERP systems (e.g., Global Shop) and MS Office Suite.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
AWS Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) credential.
Experience participating in AISC audits or quality system reviews.
Hands-on NDT background with certifications or relevant training.
