Position Summary:

The Respite Team Lead is responsible for planning and leading Respite Care events, typically held on Fridays and/or Saturdays. This role includes supervising Respite Care Providers, coordinating activities, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for participants with disabilities, and maintaining effective communication with staff and families.

Essential Functions:

· Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities for clients at respite events.

· Supervise and support Respite Care Providers and volunteers, providing training guidance and feedback.

· Maintain a safe and nurturing environment tailored to clients’ medical and developmental needs.

· Support respite care providers in managing client behavior through guidance and redirection.

· Oversee client medication management, including check-in, documentation, distribution, and return.

· Plan and lead community outings for the respite program.

· Conduct trainings at designated all-staff events to support the development and growth of respite care providers.

· Communicate clearly with program leadership, staff, volunteers, and families.

· Complete required documentation and incident reports promptly.

· Assist in the hiring and training of new respite staff.

· Ensure cleanliness and organization of the environment after each event.

· Uphold participant confidentiality.

Job Specifications:

Education, Licenses, or Certifications:

· High school degree or equivalent required; college degree preferred. CPR, First Aid required; Safety Care Behavior Management Certification required.

Experience required:

· Previous experience working with individuals with special needs and/or disabilities will be considered further qualification. Leadership experience preferred.

Skills:

· Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; effective verbal and written communication.

· Excellent problem-solving skills.

· Ability to multitask and adapt to a fast-paced environment.

Working Hours: At typical work schedule is approximately 8 hours a week; typically on Fridays and Saturdays. ESC staff may be asked to adjust his/her work schedule to include evenings and weekend times to meet the needs of our clients and their families.
