We’re looking for an experienced Area Business Manager to lead our Dallas Sales, Engineering, and Project Management teams. In this role, you’ll champion our world-class PLC, VFD, and HMI development and management solutions, helping customers shorten design cycles, improve system functionality, and reduce costs.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead, coach, and inspire a cross-functional team of Business Developers, Account Managers, and Engineers
  • Partner with customer engineering leaders to deploy Siemens-based PLC/HMI/VFD systems more efficiently, effectively, and economically
  • Build and execute territory strategies, ensuring a standards-driven sales approach that creates measurable customer value
  • Translate technical insights into scalable playbooks, enabling your team and customers to achieve repeatable success
  • Strengthen AWC’s brand as the go-to partner for automation excellence

How you’ll make an impact:

  • Customer Partnership – Act as a peer/partner to OEMs, service companies, and end users; run quarterly value reviews focused on cycle-time, cost, and quality improvements
  • Team Leadership – Direct a team of Inside/Outside Sales, Applications Engineers, and Project Coordinators; assign industry-specific playbooks and clear roadblocks
  • Front-End Engineering Discipline – Enforce process standards; escalate exceptions
  • Growth with Integrity – Drive pipeline hygiene, forecast accuracy, and margin stewardship; align with Siemens, Phoenix Contact, Rittal, and Turck programs
  • Territory Strategy – Segment by industry (Data Center, Semiconductor, Aerospace, Water/Wastewater, O&G, OEM); publish account plans with repeatable packages
  • Opportunity Creation – Facilitate workshops with customer engineering managers; position Siemens standards to compress design time
  • Deal Coaching – Guide sales team on service value selling, engage customer engineering leaders early in solution shaping
  • Partner Orchestration – Determine build paths; maintain clear swim lanes to avoid channel conflict

 Skills you’ll need:

  • 8+ years in controls/automation (PLC/HMI/VFD)
  • 3–5+ years leading multi-disciplinary teams (Sales, AEs, Project Teams, partner channels)
  • Proven leadership of Siemens PLC/HMI/VFD programs (TIA Portal, SINAMICS, WinCC)
  • Track record of using standards/modular design to cut cycle time and cost
  • Strong commercial skills: scoping, framing effort/risk, managing change, and value-based proposals
  • Natural coach and collaborator—elevates AEs and PMs while winning trust from customer engineering managers
