Job Summary:
Ithaca College is seeking an experienced prospect management analyst who is well-versed in moves management and pipeline analytics. This is an intermediate level position responsible for partnering with fundraisers to provide strategic information through the fundraising cycle. This role manages a data-driven moves management program, provides actionable analyses to optimize fundraiser performance, drives cross-departmental prospect strategy through collaborative efforts, and develops prospect management training for Ithaca College (IC) staff. The Assistant Director helps maintain data integrity and support campaign preparedness through various activities.
Reporting to the AVP, Advancement Operations and Strategy, the assistant director will also participate in aspects of the prospect research process as needed.
Supervision:
This position reports to the Associate Vice President of Operations and Strategy.
Job Responsibilities:
Prospect Research
- Support Development officers and continually improve the prospect management system that helps to move prospects through the donor cycle: Discovery, Qualification, Cultivation, Solicitation and Stewardship.
- Drive the moves management process by working closely with the development team, attending regular pipeline meetings and working with the team to set and meet key metrics.
- Develop prospect management training for IC staff.
- Provide actionable analyses to optimize fundraiser performance.
- Serve as a resource for staff across IC on prospect management tools.
- Proactive research: Utilize advanced research and analytical methodologies to identify, qualify, and rank a viable pool of highly qualified prospective donors and volunteers in support of the College’s strategic fundraising activities, including the planned, major, and leadership gifts fundraising programs.
- Assist with preparation of research profiles as requested on identified prospects to support fundraising and donor engagement strategies.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in prospect development or related field.
- Solid understanding of the development cycle and best practices for prospect development.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and both written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to effectively work and interact respectfully within a diverse and inclusive environment.
- In-depth knowledge and facility with various databases (Blackbaud RENXT a plus) and Microsoft applications.
- Capable of working efficiently and quickly to respond to unanticipated requests when required.
- Familiarity with free and paid prospect research and wealth screening tools. Experience with iWave, Lexis-Nexis, and/or Foundation Directory a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and maintain constituent records confidentiality.
Work Environment:
Most of the work of the incumbent is carried out within a generally accessible, safe, indoor environment. The incumbent will be required to use a personal computer and associated equipment as well as other office equipment used in the day-to-day operations. Ithaca College is located in Ithaca, NY, and available for a hybrid role. Fully remote candidates will be considered. Applicants must be eligible to work in the U.S.
This position is 37.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year.
