Your Impact
The AR/Credit Manager will lead the credit and collections function, ensuring that credit risk is effectively managed and cash flow is optimized. This role involves overseeing the AR team, establishing customer credit limits, approving terms, managing disputes, and collaborating with sales, operations, and finance to maintain healthy account relationships.
What You’ll Do
- Develop, implement, and maintain credit policies and procedures to minimize financial risk.
- Review and approve customer credit applications, set credit limits, and monitor ongoing creditworthiness.
- Lead the AR team in managing collections, resolving disputes, and reducing aged receivables.
- Oversee invoicing and payment application processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Analyze accounts receivable data and provide regular reports to senior management.
- Partner with internal teams to resolve billing issues and support customer satisfaction.
- Monitor and manage key AR metrics, including DSO (Days Sales Outstanding), aging, and bad debt write-offs.
- Mentor, train, and develop AR staff, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Monitor and manage customer accounts to ensure timely collections and minimize bad debt.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and applicable regulations.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, including AR reconciliations.
- Prepare and present regular AR aging, cash flow, and credit risk reports to senior management.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual agreements, and applicable laws.
What You’ve Accomplished
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s degree or professional certification such as CCE, CMA, or CPA a plus).
- 5+ years of experience in credit, collections, and AR management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of credit analysis, collections strategies, and accounting principles.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365) and proficiency in MS Excel.
- Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Strong leadership abilities with a track record of building effective teams.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
