About this role:
HERO NYC is seeking an Events & Community Manager to drive both event sales and community engagement, while serving as HERO’s primary liaison to Rockefeller Center. This hybrid role combines strategic sales leadership, event coordination, and community/partnership building. You will be responsible for developing revenue opportunities through private events, while also cultivating strong relationships with Rock Center, tenants, local partners, and cultural institutions to bring engaging programming, marketing initiatives, and collaborations to life.
The ideal candidate is equal parts sales-driven strategist and relationship-oriented community builder—someone who can close deals, execute flawless events, and foster partnerships that strengthen HERO’s role as a cultural destination within Rockefeller Center. This role reports to the Operations & Experience Director.
Responsibilities:
Event Sales & Coordination
- Develop and execute a robust private event sales strategy with defined revenue targets.
- Source, pitch, and close new event clients including corporations, brands, and agencies.
- Conduct tours and present HERO’s unique event capabilities, tailoring proposals to client needs.
- Partner with clients through the full lifecycle from initial inquiry and contracting through event execution ensuring a seamless and high-quality experience.
- Work closely with production and operations teams to deliver elevated, immersive events.
Community & Partnerships
- Act as HERO’s primary liaison to Rockefeller Center, strengthening relationships with internal teams and tenants.
- Identify, secure, and manage partnerships that drive programming, sponsorship, and co-marketing opportunities.
- Collaborate with Rock Center and external partners on seasonal activations, public events, and brand integrations that build community and enhance visibility.
- Work alongside marketing and creative teams to co-develop campaigns and communications that amplify HERO’s role in Rock Center’s cultural ecosystem.
- Represent HERO at Rock Center community meetings, events, and networking opportunities.
Strategic Growth & Engagement
- Develop initiatives that expand HERO’s reach across cultural, corporate, and community audiences.
- Monitor event sales performance and partnership ROI, providing regular reporting on outcomes and growth opportunities.
- Build and maintain a strong industry network to keep HERO front-of-mind among potential partners, tenants, and event decision-makers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospitality, Event Management, Marketing, or related field—or equivalent experience.
- 4+ years in event sales, event management, partnerships, or community engagement (hospitality/arts/cultural venues preferred).
- Strong network within NYC’s events, hospitality, and cultural communities.
- Proven success in closing event sales and coordinating complex events end-to-end.
- Skilled relationship builder with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Creative thinker with a passion for immersive experiences, cultural programming, and storytelling.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
Compensation Range: $80,000-$100,000/per year. Compensation offered will be based on experience.
