About the Department

Come join the Gliders Cross-Country team this Fall! Coaches are needed to help lead, encourage, teach, and support our runners ages 5-13. Gliders is a recreational cross-country program, and we set up our hour-long practices as a fun introduction to the sport, while challenging participants to do their best in a safe and inviting environment. Athletes and staff will work their way up to running between .5-3 miles at practices. Our athletes will run on city park trails, sidewalks, and fields in this program. We need energetic, responsible, and inspiring leaders to lead by example and be encouraging running partners – can you answer the call?

The Fall XC season will run for 7 weeks from Monday, September 8 – Wednesday, October 22, from 4:45 – 6:15 PM on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. Locations include Lake Sammamish State Park and Central Park in Issaquah Highlands. Our home XC meet, “Friday Night Lights”, is on Friday, September 26at Tibbetts Valley Park in the evening. The position is open to individuals ages 15 years and older, though 18 and older are highly encouraged to apply!
