Designs, implements and maintains quality assurance protocols and methods for processing materials into partially finished or finished products. Responsible for planning, implementing and managing compliance of manufacturing and production processes with internal and external safety, quality and regulatory standards requirements for worldwide distribution. Designs methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of production processes, production equipment and finished products. Performs analysis of reports and production data to identify trends and recommend updates or changes to quality standards and procedures when necessary. May assure compliance to in-house and/or external specifications and standards (i.e. GLP, GMP, ISO, Six Sigma).
Responsibilities:- Provides aircraft maintenance/modification management and logistics support services to US Air Force Program Management Office (PMO) and on-sight Project Manager
- Responsible to Program Contracting Officer (PCO) and PMO for performing technical evaluations of contractor cost proposals for accuracy, breadth of scope, and value
- Manages the technical development and deployment of all airframe related technical data in close coordination with the Tinker AFB Technical Coordination Group (TCG)
- Utilizes performance-based measurement guidelines to monitor contractor schedule and cost performance
- Serve as liaison between Customer and L-3 Communications personnel regarding airframe requirements
- Perform quality inspections on all aspects of aircraft maintenance and airframe modifications performed by the contractor
- Perform first article, pre-delivery, and final acceptance inspections on newly installed systems and modifications
- Coordinate and conduct safety of flight inspections to ensure aircraft airworthiness
- Provide Contractor oversight for QAE program
- Conduct aircraft debriefs and documents discrepancies in aircraft forms logbooks
- Inspect aircraft structural installations and modifications to ensure airworthiness and contract compliance
- Inspect, audit and report on conditions of contractor planning, safety, manufacturing and quality programs
- Evaluates and directs contractors on FMS aircraft providing management and leadership from program inception through aircraft delivery and support of fielded aircraft
- Acts as an additional as crew member on FMS aircraft flights
- Travel to operating locations as required to manage the installation of equipment, complete maintenance bulletins, and provide customer support
- Travel, as required, to attend meetings, briefings, in support of the BIG SAFARI Program Manager
- A current TOP SECRET/SCI Security Clearance & Citizen of the USA
- At least 15 years of combined experience in flight operations, logistics, and maintenance
- At least 15 years of experience in maintenance of Boeing aircraft
- At least 5 years of Quality Assurance or a related field of expertise
- At least 5 years of Technical Writing and Evaluating or a related field of experience
- Working knowledge of Commercial DoD contractors’ policies and practices
- Working knowledge of U. S. Air Force regulations governing aircraft maintenance, modification and operations
- Current and maintained FAA Class III medical clearance for flying
