POSITION SUMMARY:
The Hockey Program Lead is responsible for all hockey related activities, such as leagues, events, Learn-to-Play, hockey camps/clinics, teams, as well as supervising hockey instructors and scorekeepers. This position is responsible for creating a first-class programming experience for all participants, coaches, officials, and spectators across all our offerings.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
- Directly align with the SFM Statement and Core Values
- Provide effective training, workflow structure, and leadership for hockey programming
- Oversee the recruitment and training of hockey coaches; actively recruit new players and teams
- Effectively manage all aspects of the program/camp registration process; create efficient purchasing/registration experience for all programming customers
- Assist in creating a fair and competitive playing experience for all participants
- Coordinate with Skate School Lead for scheduling ice time and programs
- Build relationships and communicate effectively with guests; ensure teams and guests keep locker room neat and clean
- Assist in maintaining a clean and safe environment for guests and team members
- Serve as MOD as necessary
- Other duties as assigned by management
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience and success in customer service and programming administration preferred
- 3+ years in the hockey industry required
- USA Hockey Certified Coach required
- Must have experience in programming setup
- Must have knowledge of recreational/facility management software programs
- Must have excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Must be a team player
- Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Must have excellent computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Must be able to work a flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends, holidays, and long hours)
- Must possess current CPR/AED/First Aid certification or must be willing to obtain them within 90 days of hire
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds waist high
- May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time whether indoors or outdoors, and squat, stoop or bend
- Will be required to work in cold environments for extended periods of time
- Will be required to operate a computer
