About the Role

We’re seeking a visionary VP, Head of Women’s Merchandising to lead growth and product strategy across all Women’s categories. Reporting to the SVP, Women’s Merchandising, Partnerships & Licensing, this leader will set the direction for business expansion, oversee operations and performance, and inspire high-impact Merchandising teams. With full P&L ownership, the VP will drive long-range strategies that exceed financial goals and customer expectations, while collaborating cross-functionally to deliver differentiated product and compelling customer experiences. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in Women’s product and consumer behavior, connecting insights to execution with creativity, agility, and a passion for elevating the brand. This role requires a strong relationship builder and strategic thinker who can energize teams with a bold vision and deliver results through product innovation, customer engagement, and operational excellence.

What You'll Do

Strategy & Vision   

·         Develop and lead the overall vision & strategy for Old Navy’s Women’s business.

·         Empower direct reports to lead the functional strategies within Merchandising to deliver on the broader business objectives.  

·         Set the operational strategy (short and long-term) to deliver the ON Women’s long range plan. 

·         Provide perspective on market opportunities & alignment with goals and/or internal strengths.   

 

Product Affinity   

·         Lead Merchandising team in creating strong product assortments that deliver on Old Navy’s goals. 

·         Ensure product assortments between all departments within the division are aligned and not duplicative.  

·         Ensure department seasonal strategies provide an exciting customer store experience and support long-term brand and division goals.  

·         Actively listen to all members of the cross-functional team to ensure that innovative ideas are surfaced and acted upon, and that the team is empowered to own the business.  

 

Business Acumen    

·         Partner with the Old Navy Women’s cross-functional team to manage and react to business in the moment to ensure we are achieving sales and profit plans and meeting customer demand.  

·         Lead and guide the team throughout pre-season process and milestone meetings

·         Provide clear leadership and direction regarding seasonal investments to ensure that smart risks are being taken in the appropriate categories and that financial targets are met.    

 

People & Leadership   

·         Motivate, coach and inspire the Women’s team to drive for results. Act as a positive and solution-oriented leader and role model. Create and maintain a learning environment where the development of employees is a priority.  

·         Build strong and effective working relationships with key cross-functional partners.  

·         Align resources appropriately within own team and cross-functionally to build an organization that is set up for success.  

Who You Are

  • Minimum 12+ years of progressive experience overseeing merchandising in an Omni retail environment with a high growth retailer
  • Strategic and visionary thinker with the ability to articulate a compelling direction that aligns cross-functional teams and drives business growth.
  • Strong business acumen with deep expertise in financial metrics, analytical thinking, and the ability to identify and act on key business opportunities.
  • Agile leader who balances high-level strategy with tactical execution, adapting leadership style to meet evolving business needs.
  • Customer-obsessed and market-savvy, with a deep understanding of Women’s product, consumer behavior, and competitive landscape to inform product and experience decisions.
  • Innovative and instinct-driven, with a passion for product, a test-and-learn mindset, and the courage to take smart risks that fuel differentiation.
  • Collaborative and emotionally intelligent, skilled at building trusted relationships, navigating healthy conflict, and fostering inclusive, high-performing teams.
