Description
Purpose: Perform all tasks involved in the production of JBC Technologies, Inc. products. This includes laminating, slitting, die-cutting and assembly work with various materials including foams, rubbers, metals, graphite, cork-fibers, and fiberglass. Follow standard work methods and practice safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prioritizes safety
- Sets-up and operates any shop machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines
- Reads and interprets blueprints, drawings, Job Orders, routers and diagrams to correctly set up dies and equipment
- Adheres to operating procedures/instructions
- Adjusts machine settings to complete tasks per specification to run job orders accurately and maximize productivity
- Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to supervisors
- Communicates process and quality improvements
- Maintains a clean and safe workstation; follow shop 5S system
- Embraces a team attitude that aligns with JBC’s Core Values
- Accurately records labor and material usage in ERP system
- Follows all JBC policies and procedures
- Other responsibilities as assigned by management
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent
- 0-2 years of experience in a manufacturing/shipping environment
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, expectations, and procedures in manufacturing
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to read and perform basic math skills, including counting
- Ability to use various tools including tape measure, dial caliper, and other hand tools
- Must have a good command of the English language, both written and spoken
- Basic reading skills for understanding drawings, Job Orders, and specs
- Ability to follow directions
- Strong manual dexterity
Physical Demands:
- Light to moderate physical effort required on a constant basis
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Required to sit, stand, bend, reach and move about the facility for an entire shift
- Employees subject to random drug and alcohol testing
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Protective equipment not required but available
- Protective equipment, such as gloves, required for specific tasks
Work Schedule:
- Normal Schedule –
- 1st Shift - Monday through Thursday, 6:00 am to 4:30 pm
- Overtime scheduled as needed and may be mandatory on Fridays and Saturdays
Work Environment:
- Work performed in a plant/production environment
- Contains any number of elements including but not limited to fiberglass/insulation material, dust, fumes, and noise.
- Must be able to work as part of a team or independently with limited supervision
