Mitchell Hamline's Office of Academic Excellence is a dynamic and mission-driven team at the heart of the law school's commitment to student success. Through a thoughtfully designed continuum of services, including three courses in the curriculum, individualized academic tutoring, skill-building workshops, and strategic bar preparation; our team helps students thrive from orientation through graduation and beyond. What sets our program apart is its deep integration with the school's traditional and blended learning models, ensuring that both on-campus and distance students receive high-touch, personalized support. We value innovation, collaboration, and equity, and are constantly evolving to meet the needs of a wide range of students.

Faculty in Academic Excellence are not only educators but also mentors and thought partners, contributing to a culture of excellence, resilience, and belonging. Joining our team means becoming part of a forward-thinking institution that values creativity, student-entered pedagogy, and a shared commitment to closing equity gaps in legal education.

Our law school is in an historic area of St. Paul, on the Indigenous homelands of the Dakota Oyate, home to the Penumbra and Fitzgerald theaters, a diverse array of restaurants, and one of the finest chamber orchestras in the world. Just across the river, Minneapolis is the home to the Walker Art Center, First Avenue, the Guthrie Theater, the Minneapolis Institute of Art, and one of the nation's liveliest performing arts scenes. Minnesota was an early leader in incorporating forms of alternative dispute resolution into its court rules and

statutes and was on the forefront of restorative justice efforts such as victim-offender conferencing. This area was the birthplace of the American Indian Movement and continues to boast one of the largest urban Native populations in the country. Minneapolis and St. Paul are among the top cities for the arts and entertainment, active lifestyles, non-profit organizations, and exceptional levels of volunteer engagement.
