Wage Range: $30.00- $40.00 Hourly + Shift Differential

Schedule: Monday-Thursday | 2:30pm-12:30pm

About the Role:

Gaishin Manufacturing - Grand Rapids is seeking a skilled and motivated B-Shift Technician to join our precision-driven team. In this critical role, you will lead and execute the setup of Swiss Lathe CNC machines to support efficient and high-quality production during the B Shift. We are looking for a proactive technician who thrives in a fast-paced environment, brings technical expertise, and takes pride in delivering world class results. 

Our Grand Rapids facility operates features the following equipment:

  • (1) Citizen L20 Type 8
  • (3) Citizen L20 Type 10’s
  • (2) Citizen L32 Type 12’s
  • (1) DMG Mori NLX

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform and lead the setup of Swiss Lathe CNC machines for production.
  • Troubleshoot setup and process issues; collaborate with Engineering and Production to resolve efficiently.
  • Ensure all setups meet safety, quality, and production standards. 
  • Communicate effectively with other shifts to ensure a seamless handoff of operations.
  • Support and drive continuous improvement activities to optimize setup processes and reduce downtime.
  • Manage set up tooling and supplies; ensure necessary resources are available and organized. 
  • Prepare tools, programs, and work holding in advance for upcoming setups. 
  • Operate machines in production when set up activities are not required. 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing or production environment. 
  • Strong technical knowledge of a Swiss Lathe CNC Machine (Citizen Preferred).
  • Solid troubleshooting and mechanical problem-solving abilities. 
  • Team player with excellent communication skills. 
  • Working knowledge of safety regulations in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with safety standards and regulations in a manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent, technical certification or associate degree in a related field is preferred. 
  • CNC machining Experience in Aerospace or Medical environment. 
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives. 
  • Previous experience working in a similar role within the same industry.
