Manage and develop the Penrith Site Operations Team

Partner with the best in the business to effectively manage the complete site Operations at our Penrith site including Processing, Packaging and Blow Moulding.
The Role
Our Penrith site is located in Greater Western Sydney on the banks of the Nepean River and manufactures a range of more than 50 milk-based products. The site currently produces around 175 million litres of product every year! We proudly source milk from around 60 dairy farms across NSW and are passionate about supporting local products.
Are you an experienced Operations Manager with a strong background in change and people management? We are looking for our next Operations Manager who has the skills and experience to move into senior operations roles.
In this pivotal Operations Manager role, you will be influential to set the future direction for the site and inspire and engage teams to deliver the operational plan. You will lead all site areas to ensure the achievement of safety, quality, operational, environmental, customer service, and production metrics whilst contributing strategically by partnering, leading, and influencing key stakeholders.
Reporting into the Site Leader, The Operations Manager will be a 2IC position where you are responsible for operations across the site. They will lead a cross function team comprising of manufacturing, packaging, processing, blow moulding, materials and dry stores. Previous experience in an operations management role is key, as well as change management, cultural transformation, financial and business acumen as well as being a leader in a highly unionised environment.
While you will come armed with lots of experience, this role has a unique position to interface with a large network across all Bega sites as well as so many opportunities to learn and grow. You will also influence and shape the Penrith site and really make your mark for future years to come.
Responsibilities
Managing resources to achieve safety, quality, environment, production cost, and customer service targets/goals
Pursue the creation of a working environment culture that encourages improved productivity and job satisfaction
Facilitate the implementation, identification, and achievement of a value creation culture on site
Nurture and develop Bega Excellence culture, using operational excellence tools, to drive a practical continuous improvement process
Help site meet and deliver their financial waste targets as well as managing labour budgets
About you
Multiple years of experience in an operations management position, which includes managing and coaching a team (FMCG or Manufacturing industry preferred).
Sound leadership capability being able to create buy-in across all levels of the site
Strategic business thinking capability and commercial acumen
Strong capability to drive team engagement, capability and culture
Good Project & change management skills in Process improvement and Lean environment
