This position is at our Santa Rosa, California site, Keysight’s headquarters. The team that you will be joining develops the world’s highest performance oscilloscopes which provide the highest electrical and optical bandwidths with the lowest jitter. As manufacturers of voice and data communication systems push performance to constantly higher limits, our products provide solutions to the physical layer of optical and electrical components and systems. Our measurement solutions allow engineers in R&D and manufacturing to better understand and solve the issues that come with the transfer of data rates required for Internet/datacenter infrastructure.
We are looking for an excited and motivated mechanical engineer to learn about our company through various design and test projects. You will be working closely with expert R&D Mechanical Engineer and Electrical Engineers in a team to design and test the industry’s best performing Digital Sampling Oscilloscope.

 

This is an opportunity for you to be part of a team that's bringing new products and technologies to the market faster and more efficiently than ever before. You will be responsible for focused deliverables while working with experienced mentors and gaining a hands-on experience. In this role you will become the Mechanical Engineer for the group and will own and drive all aspects of product design including system level mechanical architecture, opto-mechanical design, RF and LF cable assemblies, sheet metal chassis, die cast parts, subassemblies, thermal and structural analysis, and performing mechanical testing to ensure products comply with Keysight high quality standards.

 

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with our marketing partners and engineers in the group on design requirements
  • Design and prototype parts at each stage of the product development process
  • Ensure parts meet design, fabrication and assembly requirements and meet Keysight quality standards
  • Work with procurement partners to ensure parts are send to fabrication and deliver for on time build schedules
  • Perform mechanical testing on parts to ensure they meet internal requirements
  • Work with local and oversee vendors to have parts manufactured to specification
  • Work with manufacturing teams to ensure they have proper documentation, tooling and fixtures to support assembly processes for builds before and after production
Qualifications:

 

  • B.S degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Experience with iterative design, manufacture, assembly, and mechanical systems.
  • Strong experience with Creo, SolidWorks or Siemens NX CAD programs.
  • Strong experience making mechanical drawings, GD&T, and design for manufacturing.
  • Willingness to work with external vendors and suppliers
  • Self-starter able to think and act independently to translate general objectives into tangible results, with a record of delivering successful results on schedule.
  • Excellent communication and ability to work well in both team and solo environments with people at all levels.
