Thank you for your interest in joining the Tam District family. Our vision is that staff, students and families will report feeling a part of a trusting, inclusive community that values multiple perspectives. This learning community will eliminate the predictability of student access and outcomes based on race or socioeconomic status.
The District is situated in an active, supportive community. Serving over 5,000 students in three comprehensive high schools, two alternative programs and an adult education school. The staff of the District is caring, dedicated, equity focused and student centered. The Tam District is committed to continuing to develop a racially conscious educational system and is seeking candidates who are knowledgeable of, and passionate about, racial equity work.
Students have access to a broad course of study and unique programing. Tam District graduates have options to pursue higher educational institutions or professions of their choice. Several schools in the district have received awards, including California Distinguished School and National Blue Ribbon School.
Job Summary
Enforce school and district rules, regulations and policies regarding student behavior and discipline
Perform clerical and support services for teachers and administrators
Work closely with teachers to provide instruction to individual students and small groups of students
Mediate student conflict as appropriate
Patrol the school corridors, campus, parking lots, gym locker rooms and adjacent areas; clear and check restrooms and locker rooms
Observe, report and intervene, when appropriate as follows: safety and health problems, violations of school rules and regulations and any activities of students or others considered dangerous or objectionable
Prepare and reproduce classroom materials
Supervise student behavior outside of classrooms; help maintain discipline
Monitor test taking and correct papers
Supervise athletic activities
Accompany student groups on field trips
Prepare reports and maintain records
Operate audio-visual equipment
Refer students to support services when indicated
Assist in planning and supervising graduation
Communicate with parents regarding student progress

Salary Info
Normal starting rate of pay is first step of salalry range; up to 5 years of experience granted for public school work.
