Description
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in the organization, planning, and implementation of Paducah Parks and Recreation Youth Sports Leagues. Coaches will be responsible for teaching participants the basic fundamental skills in practice and game settings.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
· Work with the Recreation Specialist and Recreation Supervisor to implement Volleyball, Basketball, Tennis, Soccer, and Baseball/Softball Programs.
· Organize teaching strategies, practice plans, and activities for weekly practices and games.
· Serve as coaches and referees during games.
· Maintain a good relationship with children and their parents.
· Maintain accurate records of attendance and sign-in/out documentation.
· Perform other duties as assigned by the Recreation Specialist/Supervisor.

SALARY DESCRIPTION:
$15.00/Hour
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have playing or coaching experience in youth sports, including but not limited to volleyball, tennis, basketball, soccer, softball, and baseball. Experience working with preschool-aged and/or elementary school-aged children is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge and/or experience in teaching children, sports skills and rules, and maintaining a consistent and safe environment that is conducive to enhancing learning. Must be prompt and reliable. Must be flexible and organized, and able to adapt when circumstances warrant.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to maintain a high energy level and activity level in outdoor summer temperatures. Moderate lifting and moving of materials and equipment will be required.
