JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Assistant for a dynamic role that combines in-office administrative and medical billing tasks with hands-on program support. Responsibilities include picking up food rescue resources, weighing and inspecting items to ensure food safety and quality, unpacking as needed, purchasing food in bulk from retailers, and packing and delivering food boxes through the Y Community Market to high-needs clients in the community. The ideal candidate will have a clean driving record, be comfortable operating a refrigerated Sprinter Van, and have a strong commitment to supporting the community. They will also have strong attention to detail, be able to navigate various computer systems to ensure proper documentation for member services and billing, and work with an interdisciplinary team to ensure program quality addressing food insecurity and other health related social needs. This role is vital in ensuring food security for individuals and families in need, as well as helping to reduce food waste through the collection of food donations.

 

PROGRAM/DEPARTMENT RESPSONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform administrative office functions associated with Health Related Social Needs Programming. This includes but is not limited to:
  • Ensuring spreadsheets for member and services tracking are accurate and up to date.
  • Ensuring documentation in the Accountable Care Organization preferred system is accurate and up to date. Which includes member services and invoicing.
  • Ensuring claims are entered into the billing system in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Work with the interdisciplinary team to support the delivery of a quality program addressing health related social needs.
    • Deliver Groceries: Safely and efficiently transport groceries from the Y Community Market to clients in the Y Service Area.
    • Food Rescue Pickup: Collect food rescue donations from local partners, vendors, or other community organizations and transport them back to the pantry for
    • Vehicle Operation: Drive a refrigerated Sprinter Van to maintain the quality and safety of perishable items during transport, ensuring proper loading and unloading of goods.
    • Customer Service: Provide friendly, professional service to clients when delivering groceries. Ensure that all deliveries are made in a timely and courteous manner.
    • Safety & Maintenance: Maintain a clean driving record and ensure the Sprinter Van is kept in good working condition and fueled. Report any issues or necessary repairs to the Program Manager promptly.
    • Documentation: Accurately track deliveries and food rescues, including collecting signatures, updating delivery logs, and ensuring all necessary paperwork is
    • Adherence to Policies: Follow all safety, traffic, and organizational policies to ensure safe and efficient transportation.
    • Inventory Management: Ensure groceries and food rescue items are correctly loaded, stored, and transported to prevent spoilage or damage.
    • Communication: Regularly communicate with the Y Community Market team regarding delivery schedules, food rescue pickups, changes, or client needs.

* A portion of work will be outdoors during deliveries and pickups in various weather conditions. Vehicle will be provided with the Y’s refrigerated Sprinter Van for deliveries and food rescue pickups.
