Work Schedule: Saturday 9:45 am -5:15 pm and Sunday 1:45 pm to 5:15 pm; 10.5 hours every other weekend, occasional evening, holiday, or additional hours as needed

Brief Description of Work:
The History Museum Weekend Supervisor serves as the key staff person in charge of creating a friendly and safe environment for visitors and staff. The Supervisor ensures that all museum visitors receive outstanding customer service and also oversees facility operations and safety during their shifts.
Responsibilities and duties will include:
This staff member serves as the supervisor for museum operations and works year-round as a team leader for a staff of 2 part-time tour guides. Individuals must have a demonstrated interest in history and the ability and to share historical information with visitors.
Duties include demonstrating positive leadership skills with staff and visitors, learning historical material and leading tours, assisting with a regular schedule of special events and programs, opening and closing the building, and following museum rules and procedures. Occasionally supervisors are asked to work additional weekend hours to assist with special events.
The job is NON-EXEMPT under FLSA.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Two (2) years of experience, either paid or volunteer, directly supervising people
- Associate’s Degree or higher
- One (1) year experience in a work setting that serves the public in an educational setting such as a museum, school, daycare, library, or related
An Ideal Candidate Would Also Possess (Preferred Qualifications):
- History Degree
- Museum experience
