About the Department

JOB OBJECTIVE: To provide general supervision, instruction, counseling and coaching to participants in various age groups and activities.

Position Duties

  1. Organizes recreational activities for youth participants.
  2. Monitors equipment and supplies for program games and activities in all areas of facility.
  3. Assist with collecting information (surveys, birth certificates, forms, etc.) for athletic and other recreational programs.
  4. Monitors behavior of participants during work hours to assure rules and regulations, policies and procedures are being followed.
  5. Coaches various athletic programs including but not limited to basketball, soccer, football, volleyball, track, baseball, softball and tee-ball.
  6. Officiate various athletic programs including but not limited to basketball, soccer, football, volleyball, track, baseball, softball and tee-ball.
  7. Teach fundamental skills in various sports and recreational games to participants.
  8. Perform daily and/or routine maintenance such as sweeping, mopping floors, emptying trash, cleaning restrooms, setting up and breaking down tables and chairs.
  9. Issue equipment and supplies to participants.
  10. Administer minor discipline, following policy and procedures guidelines as required.
  11. Transport youth participants to various locations as assigned ensuring transport and vehicle guidelines are followed when providing transportation.

Minimum Qualifications

These knowledge, skills, and abilities are usually, although not always, acquired through one (1) year of experience in instruction and/or supervision of youth related programs and/or activities.  Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
