Position Summary:
The Welder receives instructions from the Operations Manager pertaining to the assignments and expectations for the day. The Welder will be responsible for welding and assembling metal structures and equipment using welders, cutters, shapers, and measuring tools. The role of the Welder is to ensure that all welding operations are carried out accurately, efficiently, and in line with safety regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and measurements to plan layouts.
- Weld small and large components such as steel.
- Use specialized machinery for welding and oversee machines that perform the same job.
- Maintain and repair all machinery.
- Assess welded surfaces and components to identify errors.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Assist in the stocktaking of welding supplies.
- Collaborate with the manufacturing team to ensure timelines are met.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures.
Requirements
Education and Experience Required:
- HS Diploma or GED Equivalent from an accredited institution
- Proven experience as a welder
- Experience using electrical or manual tools
- Attention to detail
- Forklift Certification
Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:
- Professional Certification/Welding Certificate
- Strong organizational skills & Mathematical skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Knowledgeable in TFI/OSHA Safety Requirements
