Description

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Part-time Optical Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide exceptional customer service, assist patients in selecting eyewear that suits their needs and preferences, and support the overall operations of our optical clinic. Your contributions will directly impact patient satisfaction and the success of our clinical practice.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver outstanding customer service by warmly greeting patients and addressing their eyewear needs.
  • Guide patients in selecting frames, lenses, and lens options (e.g., tints, coatings) based on prescriptions and personal preferences.
  • Accurately measure patients for eyewear fittings, including pupillary distance and other relevant optical measurements.
  • Educate patients on proper eyewear care and maintenance.
  • Process eyewear orders, ensuring accuracy in prescriptions and patient information.
  • Communicate effectively with optical labs regarding order specifications and status updates.
  • Manage patient communications, including appointment scheduling, order follow-ups, and addressing inquiries.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the optical dispensary, including displays and work areas.
  • Stay informed about the latest optical products, trends, and technologies to provide informed recommendations.
  • Assist in inventory management, including restocking frames and supplies.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve sales targets and enhance the patient experience.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of previous experience in optical is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities.
  • Proficiency in using optical tools and equipment (e.g., pupilometers, lensometers) is advantageous.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, as needed.
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus, enhancing communication with a diverse patient base.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in optics or related fields is a plus.
