Position Overview: The VP of Information Technology (IT) is responsible for the overall leadership and execution of Vibrant’s technology area. You will lead a multi-faceted team of IT professionals, ensuring our technological infrastructure remains secure and reliable. You will also prioritize the team’s engagement, growth and development while ensuring they have the knowledge and tools to succeed. This role requires a collaborative leader with a passion for innovation and a proven track record of success in managing complex IT environments. 

Requirements

The primary responsibilities of the VP IT role include but are not limited to:

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Promoting and upholding the credit unions Mission, Vision and Values, stewarding our culture. 
  • Hiring, monitoring and supporting development for the team, providing daily performance and growth and development coaching to team members.
  • Fostering a collaborative and supportive working environment that encourages teamwork, accountability, and professional growth.

Technology Execution:

  • Partner with business leaders to develop a comprehensive IT roadmap and budget that supports the credit union’s short and long-term objectives.
  • Oversee the management and optimization of all enterprise IT systems, infrastructure, and applications, ensuring they meet the needs of the organization and align with industry best practices.
  • Drive the architecture framework, focusing on the designing and implementation of scalable and secure technology solutions, leveraging industry best practices.
  • Establish and oversee production control practices to ensure system stability, minimize downtime, and deliver exceptional service to internal and external stakeholders.


Vendor Management, Budgeting, and Cost Management:

  • Cultivate strong relationships with key IT vendors, obtain competitive bids, negotiate favorable contracts, and ensure the credit union receives the best value possible. 
  • Developing and managing the technology operational, capital, and fixed assets budgets, including forecasting expenses, monitoring costs, and identifying areas for cost-savings initiatives.
  • Engage with critical vendors and conduct regular vendor performance evaluations to ensure adherence to service level agreements (SLAs) and quality standards

Collaboration and Innovation:

  • Collaborate with other business lines to ensure technology initiatives are well-aligned with overall business goals and identify opportunities for technology-driven innovation and process improvement.
  • Researching and staying aware of emerging and fading technology trends and platforms, incorporating this knowledge into the organization’s technological approach.

Project Management and Compliance:

  • Lead the planning, execution, and successful implementation of critical IT projects.
  • Maintain strict adherence to all relevant IT security regulations, data privacy laws, and compliance standards.
  • Remains current in regulatory compliance and industry IT developments. Ensures the credit union’s IT practices conform to current regulatory guidance. Recommends changes to support regulatory requirements and to ensure that the Credit Unions IT infrastructure remains competitive.
  • Develops and administers the credit union’s IT Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Plan. Schedules, coordinates and conducts testing of the plans.
  • Responsible for interactions regarding IT audits and that any findings and recommendations are addressed and/or resolved.


Our Ideal Candidate

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in IT leadership roles, with a proven track record and managing complex IT environments.
  • Extensive technical knowledge of network and operating systems, as well as network hardware, protocols and standards. 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead the development and implementation of technology solutions. 
  • Deep understanding of IT security principles and compliance requirements. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyze complex issues and implement effective solutions. 
  • Ability to move between high-level review/design and the “roll up the sleeves” level of oversight.
  • Project management skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.

Environmental and Physical Activity Requirements:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. The daily responsibilities of this position constantly require effective talking, hearing, walking, finger dexterity, reaching, stooping, and grasping functions. The position also often requires reaching and lifting (up to 25 pounds). Frequent sitting, standing, and repetitive motion activities are also required. Must be able to read print and computer-based materials and to do so with consistent accuracy. Most of these functions require light physical exertion and are conducted indoors at controlled degrees of temperature.
