About the Department

The City of Henderson announces an examination to create a consideration for hire list and to fill one (1) part-time vacancy for the classification of Supply and Equipment Technician in the Police Department. The consideration for hire list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to one (1) year.
Under general supervision, performs a wide variety of functions in the ordering, receipt and distribution of supplies, equipment, and property for the Henderson Police Department. Incumbents work in a warehouse environment and are responsible for the flow of goods from vendors and suppliers to department personnel.
- This is a part-time, non-PERS eligible position.
- This position does not qualify for employer-paid benefits, paid time off, wage increases, or union representation
- This position requires enrollment in the City's Alternate Retirement Systems (ARS)
- May be required to work a flexible work schedule, outside of normal business hours, which may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and/or extended hours
- Work schedule will consist of an average of 19 hours/week (988 hours/year.) Hours per week may increase or decrease based on Department need
- The regularly scheduled work days* for this vacancy will consist of Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. (*The work schedule is at the discretion of the supervisor.)

Position Duties
- Graduation from high school or the equivalent
- Three (3) years of experience in purchasing, storekeeping, and inventory control
- Must possess and maintain a valid Nevada or “border state” driver’s license, as defined by NRS 483
- Must pass a nationwide fingerprint-based record check, and a wants/warrants check
- Must complete Security Awareness and National Crime Information Center (NCIC)/Nevada Criminal Justice Information System (NCJIS) certification within six months of hire/transfer and be recertified every year. Must maintain certifications in NCIC/NCJIS as a condition of continued employment
- Desirable: Previous experience with purchasing and warehousing of law enforcement supplies and equipment
