At the administrative direction of the Radiology Manager and Director of Ancillary Services, and the clinical direction of the Radiologist, independently performs majority of exams with minimum supervision done within the section of the Radiology Department.
Responsibilities:
- Utilizes AIDET when communicating with patients to identify patient service requirements, ensure correct exam is performed on the correct patient, and establish rapport with patients and others.
- Perform timely and quality radiology procedures for subsequent evaluation and treatment by an attending physician.
- Properly record patient information and maintain HER.
- Perform quality control checks/audits on radiologic equipment.
- Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to ensure the safety of patients and team members.
- Assist with general patient care if needed.
- Attend staff meetings as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Required: Associate degree from an Accredited Radiology Program
- Preferred: At least 1 year experience, preferably in a hospital environment
- Required: Meet all Employee Health Requirement
- Required: Certification by ARRT (R) or similar accredited body. or obtain within 12 months of employment.
- Required: Active Radiography (RRT) NM MIRTP Licensure (Medical Imaging & Radiation Therapy Program)
- Required: Current BLS (CPR)
