JOB SUMMARY
The primary role of the Accounting Clerk is to manage and process all donations and maintain donor information in the Agilon One donor database system. This role will do so by being responsible for reviewing and reconciling all donations and A/R payments received, to ensure they are coded to the proper fund and appeal codes and receipting all donations in a timely manner. This position plays a crucial role in the ongoing work of the Finance team, and their skills are vital to their continued success.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
DONATION AND A/R PROCESSING
- Process all incoming mail daily; separate checks received into specific batches for Donations and Designated Subsidies (A/R)
- Scan all check received into the Remote Deposit system for bank deposit
- Maintain Check Donation Log with all check deposit transactions
- Maintain Cash Donation Log with all cash received and store cash in lock box
- Input and/or import all check and cash deposit batches into the Agilon One System
- Process and print donation receipts to be mailed twice per week
- Crosstrain on other duties and donation entry methods (online, monthly ACH donations, etc.)
DONOR AGILON ONE SYSTEM
- Update and maintain donor information including name changes, contact information changes, and other information as requested by donors and MAP staff
- Create and maintain Appeal information in Agilon One
- Review and update upcoming appeals to ensure accuracy of scan lines and other information
ADMINISTRATIVE AND OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain proper storage and destruction of donor and donation files, including destruction of original checks remotely deposited after 90 days
- Mail processing and distribution
- Respond to donor calls and questions regarding donations
- Process credit card donation forms received by mail
OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the Accounting Supervisor in month end closing procedures as needed
- Perform other duties as needed
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
This position interacts with all internal MAP departments, external auditors, MAP donors, etc.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- Three years’ related experience and/or training
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from MAP staff, auditors, and donors
- Knowledge of accounting methods, theory, and procedures
- Moderate to advanced knowledge of Excel
- Ability to learn quickly and be flexible to changing schedules
- Strong computer skills
- Good communication skills, including interpersonal, written, and oral
- Ability to be organized, efficient, and enjoy detailed work
