PHYSICAL THERAPIST
CHARACTERISTICS OF WORK:
Mississippi Sports Medicine is looking to hire a superb Physical Therapist to join our team! The chosen candidate will provide exceptional rehabilitating treatment and compassionate care. This is a full-time position located at our Jackson, MS, Therapy Center.
EXPERIENCE / EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
Bachelors, Masters, or DPT Degree in Physical Therapy.
AND
Experience:
One (1) year experience in physical therapy, preferred. Newly graduated Physical Therapists will be considered.
Certification / License Requirements:
Must possess a current or pending valid State of Mississippi Physical Therapist license and current CPR certification.
Graduate from an accredited Physical Therapy Program
Documentation Required:
Applicant must provide a copy of valid license to practice as a Physical Therapist in the State of Mississippi and a current copy of CPR certification.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Additional essential functions may be identified and included as needed. The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Conducts patient physical therapy as prescribed by physicians
- Evaluates and assesses patient physical therapy progress and reports to physicians
- Provides equipment and/or supplies as prescribed, ensuring proper fit and providing adequate instruction
- Provides patient and family education for continued home exercise programs
- Records appropriate clinical notes and maintains patient records
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Moderate Work: Requires substantial amount of time standing and walking. May frequently exert for equivalent to lifting up to approximately 25 pounds and/or occasionally exert force equivalent to lifting up to approximately 70 pounds.
Vision: Requires the ability to perceive the nature of objects by the eye.
Speaking / Hearing: Must possess the ability to give and receive information through speaking and hearing skills.
Motor Coordination: While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to walk; use hands to finger, handle and feel objects, tools and/or controls/ and stoop, knee, crouch, or bend. The incumbent is frequently required to stand and reach with hands and arms. The incumbent is occasionally required to sit.
