REPORTS TO:
Building Administrator- Principal and Assistant Principal

REQUIREMENTS:
NJDOE teaching certification is required. Certifications in specific subject areas (Mathematics, Science, English, etc.) or special education are beneficial.
Prior teaching experience, particularly with at-risk students or students in need of academic intervention, is preferred.
Experience with online learning platforms or blended learning models is a plus.

DESCRIPTION:
The Credit Recovery Instructor is responsible for facilitating credit recovery for students who have fallen behind in their academic credits. This position involves a blended instructional model, incorporating both direct teaching and online individualized learning platforms. The instructor will provide academic support, ensuring that students meet course requirements for credit recovery while guiding them through a structured, supportive learning environment. The instructor will report daily to the credit recovery classroom during their prep or lunch period to deliver instruction

DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:
Direct Instruction: Provide focused, small-group or one-on-one instruction to students, supplementing online learning with targeted lessons in areas where students struggle.
Online Instruction Management: Monitor and facilitate student progress in credit recovery courses delivered through the Edgenuity platform. Assist students in navigating the digital interface and troubleshooting any technical difficulties.
Progress Monitoring: Track and evaluate student progress, providing feedback and adjusting instructional strategies to ensure students stay on pace to complete their credit recovery requirements.
Communication & Collaboration: Collaborate with subject area teachers and school counselors to gather necessary course materials and align credit recovery efforts with the broader curriculum.
Student Support & Mentorship: Provide ongoing mentorship, motivation, and academic guidance to help students remain engaged and committed to completing the credit recovery program.
Record Keeping & Reporting: Maintain detailed records of student attendance, coursework completion, and progress. Report on student performance and credit recovery outcomes to school administration and counselors.
Classroom Management: Maintain a structured and focused learning environment that supports individual student needs while fostering academic responsibility.
Parental Engagement: Communicate with parents/guardians about student progress and provide updates as necessary.
SKILLS:

Strong understanding of online learning platforms and instructional technologies.
Ability to differentiate instruction to meet individual student needs.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff.
Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple students’ learning progress simultaneously.
Proficient in using learning management systems (LMS) and educational software tools.

REMUNERATION:
Salary will be in accordance with the current KEA contract.
