Qualifications:  Refer to State Department of Education, Bulletin 746, Revised.

  • Valid Type A or Level 3 teaching certificate
  • Master’s degree
  • Currently hold or eligible to hold an Ed. Leadership 1 or an Ed. Leadership 2 Certification
  • Preferred__-3 Years of Ed. Leadership experience at the level of Assistant Principal or above 

*Salary is determined by years of teaching experience and certification level, applied at the appropriate pay factor.

 

 

SABINE PARISH  SCHOOL BOARD JOB DESCRIPTION

 

TITLE:  Non-Instructional Professional Personnel 

(Directors, Supervisors, Coordinators, Specialists)

 

REPORTS TO:  Superintendent or his designee

SUPERVISES:  Supervisors: Teachers, as requested by principal or Superintendent; other personnel, as directed by the Superintendent. Other Central Office Certified: Personnel in specific area(s) of responsibility if so directed by the Superintendent.

 

I.  PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

1.  Follows the directives of the Superintendent.

 

2.  Keeps the Superintendent informed of the progress being made in his/her area(s) of responsibility.

 

3.  Performs duties assigned by the Superintendent, required by the school board, required by the State Department of Education and/or by state and federal regulations and guidelines.

 

4.  Assists in the establishment of curriculums in the parish schools to fit the needs and purposes of individual students and schools, as prescribed by law to improve the quality of education in the parish.

 

5.  Keeps abreast professionally and to meet new requirements affecting his/her area(s) of responsibility by attending relevant parish, area and state meetings and workshops.

 

6.  Informs principals of changes in guidelines, regulations, etc., pertinent to his/her area(s) of responsibility.

 

7.  Works cooperatively with the Superintendent, other members of the central office staff, the principals of the parish schools, and the personnel (certified and uncertified) under his/her direction, coordination, and/or supervision.

 

8.  Provides in-service training as required and needed for the personnel under his/her coordination, direction and/or supervision.

 

9.  Completes and returns all forms, reports, proposals, budgets, evaluations, etc., by required dates.

 

10.  Directs, coordinates and/or supervises all personnel for whom he/she is responsible to assure the improvement of performance, methods, and techniques.

 

11.  Notifies the Superintendent, or his designee, when he/she has to be absent from work.

 

12.  Maintains essential records, inventories, etc.

 

13.  Reports to the Sabine Parish School Board as mandated or as the need arises.

 

14.  Reports to work at or prior to the time specified by the Superintendent.
 

15.  Remains open to suggestions and innovative ideas.

 

16.  Acts as technical advisor and resource person to assist principals in matters pertaining to improvements in his/her area(s) of responsibility.

 

17.  Works with wholehearted support, and cooperation with other staff members, to implement programs and directives of the Superintendent and the school board. 

                                                                       

18.  Performs any other duties assigned by the school board or the Superintendent.
