Veterinary Technician I – Foster

A Day in the Life:
As a Veterinary Technician in our Foster Department you will act as the Veterinarian's primary medical support person for pets in foster care. You will begin the examination procedure and continue to assist the doctor throughout the examination, diagnosis, and treatment phases. Not only are our technicians a master of time management and critical thinking, they are also rock stars in offering an excellent experience every time to our Foster Heroes. Our Foster Veterinary Technicians are compassionate with their communication, keep a cool composure under pressure and thrive on teamwork.
Job Requirements:
- High schooldiploma/GED.
- Minimum of 1 year experience working as a veterinary technician in a veterinary clinic/hospital setting.
- Must be proficient with TPR, vaccine administration, implanting microchips, fluid therapy, laboratory procedures, and medication.
- Must know phlebotomy, immunology, parasitology, endocrinology, pharmacology and perform safe and humane animal handling.
Work Environment / Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
