Fire Captain of Support Services at City of Tomball

The City of Tomball is accepting applications for the position of Fire Captain of Support Services. This position is a newly created position within the City of Tomball with an anticipated start date of October 1, 2025 or after. The Captain of Support Services will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient functioning of the department, optimizing emergency preparedness, personnel training, and response efforts. This position is responsible for Emergency Management, Training, Fleet Management, Personal Protective Equipment, and the Health and Safety of the Fire Department personnel. The Captain of Support Services will also serve as the City's Deputy Emergency Management Coordinator.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must Possess an Associate's Degree in Fire Science or related field
• Must possess the following Texas Commission on Fire Protection Certifications
  • Master Firefighter
  • Master Inspector
  • Level III Instructor
  • Fire Officer II or higher
  • Hazardous Materials Technician
  • Driver Operator – Pumper
  • Driver Operator – Aerial
  • Plans Examiner
• Must possess and maintain throughout employment a Texas Department of State Health Services EMT certification or higher
• Must have completed NIMS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, and 800
• Shall possess a valid Class B Texas motor vehicle operator's license
• Must have completed the FEMA Professional Development Series
• Hold the rank of Company Officer or above for two (2) years in a Career Fire Department

SALARY:

• Hiring Range $39.80 - $41.79/hr. (40 hour work week, base annual compensation $82,784 DOQ)
