Job Description:The AECOM Washington DC Interior Design Team is actively seeking a talented Interior Design Manager for immediate employment in our Washington, DC office. This is a hybrid role. We have exciting opportunities for significant Federal, Higher Ed and Workplace projects. Applicants should have had exposure to project management, people management and design expertise.
- Manages interior design project workload, distributing work assignments to most effectively utilize staff and meet department and/or project established schedules and budgets.
- Informs the Interior Design Director/Leader of staff issues, concerns and growth opportunities.
- Reviews completed work of design team to ensure accuracy and compliance with codes and design concept.
- Leads the development of workplans and meets with staff to assign and review progress.
- Understands the proposal process and can support the preparation of budget and fees for the interiors studio, as well as review of proposals, as required.
- Understand interior design documentation and provides quality reviews as needed for all phases of a project.
- Mentors interior design staff.
- Coordinates with other disciplines in inter-disciplinary projects, such as MEP/FP and structural teams.
- Some staff will report to this position and will require to perform yearly reviews for staff professional growth.
Minimum Requirements
- BA/BS in Interior Design or related degree +8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 2 years in a leadership role.
- Experience as an Interior Design Manager.
Preferred Qualifications
- 15+ years of experience in interior design profession is preferred.
- Experience as an Interior Design Manager experience with a focus on interiors.
- Advanced knowledge of interior design materials and application.
- Capable to work independently on interior design written specifications.
- This position does not offer relocation assistance.
