Human Resources Assistant
We are looking for a Human Resources Assistant to join our Santa Barbara Corporate Team!
The Human Resources Assistant is responsible for a variety of activities in the office, including assisting with verifications of employment, managing employee records, answering phone calls, and other activities in multiple human resources areas. The Human Resources Assistant provides ongoing support to the Human Resources department and all levels of staff in the organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs the following duties, but not limited to:
- Process verification of employment requests, requests for records for subpoenas, and requests for information for unemployment and state disability insurance claims.
- Retrieve and compile personnel information for invoice processing.
- Process, verify, and maintain personnel records.
- Answer questions regarding Human Resources policies and procedures.
- Examine employee files to answer inquiries and provide information for personnel actions.
- Search employee files to obtain information for authorized persons and organizations, such as credit bureaus and finance companies.
- Interpret and explain human resources policies, procedures, standards, or regulations.
- Prepare or maintain employment records related to events, such as hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, or promotions, using human resources management system software.
- Work as a team with other co-workers to complete tasks.
- Responsible for occasional corporate office reception coverage.
- Other duties as required

- Professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with prioritizing responsibilities.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail oriented.
- The capability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.
- Strong customer service skills, including politeness, tact, patience and diplomacy while dealing with complex and sensitive situations, and the ability to maintain a courteous relationship with all staff.
- Adaptability to work in a dynamic team-based setting where daily job duties may fluctuate depending on business needs.
- Bilingual in Spanish is beneficial.

- Hourly pay range $22.00-$25.00 continent on experience.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Experience working in an office with general administration tasks.
- Human Resources experience is beneficial.
- Knowledge of HRMS and HR Systems is beneficial.
