As a Materials Manager you will have the opportunity to effectively manage inventory related procedures throughout the facility. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by maintaining accurate inventory levels ensuring that optimal inventory is present and ready for use across all stages of production. So, what will you be doing as a Materials Manager?
- Maintains accurate records of incoming and outgoing material
- Work with the Quality & Shipping/Receiving teams to establish & facilitate inspection processes on incoming goods
- Directly supervise/manage IC team responsible for material handling and inventory auditing
- Monitor and control inventory integrity, including product identification and location maintenance, inventory discrepancies, maintenance and/or corrections
- Management of all cycle counting, location auditing, inventory control practices & procedures to maintain accuracy and assure compliance with audit requirements
- Responsible for the day-to-day operations of IC support functions, including but not limited to; inventory control, space management, replenishments, and returns
- Identify and determine root causes of inventory deviation through cause-and-effect analysis using continuous improvement methodologies
- Design, review and modify inventory audit criteria, processes, procedures and reports for the purpose of improving and/or maintaining inventory accuracy
- Coordinate with all departments to assure inventory accuracy and effective transfer practices
- Responsible for training, documentation and implementation of best practices with respect to ERP/MRP transactional requirements & inventory control
- Identify, research & resolve inventory discrepancies
- Coordinate and manage daily physical and perpetual cycle counting efforts
- Report, monitor and review daily inventory adjustments and changes
- Resolve inventory issues / discrepancies, problem orders and intercompany transfer issues
- Conduct daily analyses to anticipate and resolve potential inventory problems
- Report on inventory activities, changes and variances, including trends and root cause analysis
- Develop inventory control procedures and best practices
- Recommend and implements process changes to minimize inventory loss
- Work with the Master Scheduler to manage obsolescence to meet and exceed KPI's
- Write and maintain accurate written procedures for all main inventory control processes and functions
- Ensure orders are correct and fully completed and that all stock has been allocated to the order correctly
- Produce daily reports to ensure key critical areas of the stock system are controlled and any discrepancies addressed and resolved
- Manage control measures to ensure mistakes, inaccuracies and discrepancies are highlighted, addressed and resolved
- Maintain accurate records of all product inventory utilizing daily cycle counts and adjustments
- Work with Production to organize inventory in a logical manner to help ensure fast and efficient shipping operations
- Conduct inventory transaction error analysis and develop corrective action steps
Salary: $67,500 to 90,000
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
- 5 years of experience in inventory management
- Proficient in Word and Excel
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Good judgement and decision-making skills
- Able to meet deadlines
- Able to handle detailed and confidential information
