- Collaborate with the San Bernardino School District, program leaders, and executive management to implement/ crate an engaging, age-appropriate sports curriculum aligned with early childhood development principles.
- Plan and lead physical activities, games, and exercises that support fine motor skills, coordination, and balance.
- Integrate social skill-building into activities, teaching concepts such as teamwork, sharing, and following directions.
- Adjust programming to meet the needs and developmental levels of all participants.
- Provide a fun, encouraging atmosphere that motivates children to participate and explore new skills.
- Travel to multiple school sites within the city of San Bernardino to deliver programming.
- Maintain open communication with parents/guardians, school district partners, program directors, and executive management.
- Ensure participant safety by following all supervision protocols, maintaining equipment, and keeping play areas clean and organized.
- Track participation, provide feedback, and make curriculum adjustments as needed to enhance program success.
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Must have reliable transportation to travel to various school sites in San Bernardino.
- Associate’s Degree (AA) in Early Childhood Education, Physical Education, Recreation, or related field preferred.
- Experience working with young children in a recreation, education, or sports environment preferred.
- Ability to design and implement creative, engaging lesson plans.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with children, parents, school district staff, program directors, and executive management.
- Proven ability to manage and engage groups of up to 25 children.
- Patience, adaptability, and enthusiasm for early childhood development.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain before start date).
- Hours:
- Part-time, variable Monday – Friday 9 am – 3:30pm totaling 24 hours a week.
- Ability to stand, run, bend, and lift up to 25 lbs. during activities.
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
