As the IT Infrastructure and Operations Senior Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and improving the organization's IT infrastructure. The role includes managing and developing a team of IT professionals or engineers, establishing future strategies and architecture, and implementing technologies to support the growth and efficiency of global manufacturing operations while ensuring high availability and service levels for operational support. This role is a member of the Gibson Digital Technology Leadership team.
Essential Functions
- Infrastructure Team Leadership: Lead, develop and mentor the IT infrastructure and operations team to deliver consistent IT services, support, and customer service.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and execute a forward-thinking IT infrastructure strategy / architecture to align with business and growth initiatives.
- Roadmap Development: Create a comprehensive IT Infrastructure Roadmap that outlines the technology investments, upgrades and innovations required to meet long term objectives.
- Operational Support: Manage Tier 1-3 support operations, ensuring timely issue resolution and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain infrastructure for high availability and optimal performance.
- Enhance operational processes, mentor support staff, and ensure technology alignment with organizational needs.
- Infrastructure Optimization: Continuously evaluate and improve the IT infrastructure to ensure scalability, security, and reliability.
- Technology Integration: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and assess their potential to enhance our IT infrastructure and improve employee productivity.
- Budget Oversight and Annual Planning: Manage the IT infrastructure budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions while maintaining peak performance.
- Security and Compliance: Ensure our IT infrastructure complies with all security and regulatory standards.
- Team Development: Recruit, train, and cultivate IT professionals to build a high-performing team. Develop the current team to ensure they are growing in their careers and ready to meet the ongoing objectives of a dynamic and fast-growing enterprise.
- Collaboration: Foster cross-functional collaboration with other departments to ensure IT solutions meet the needs of the business
- Vendor Management: Collaborate with technology vendors and service providers to evaluate, source, collaborate, and manage IT solutions.
- Disaster Recovery Planning: Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity.
- Comfort around Higher Management: This role will interact and collaborate with all levels of the enterprise including Gibson Leadership Team at the C-Suite Level
Required Skills/Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience in IT infrastructure management, with a minimum of 5-7 years in a leadership role.
- Demonstrated experience in People Development and Daily Line Management
- Profound knowledge of infrastructure technologies, cloud services, network architecture, and virtualization.
- Outstanding project management and budgeting skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Industry certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Security+, or ITIL are advantageous.
- Familiarity with IT infrastructure in the manufacturing sector is a plus.
