About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Engineer & Office Director to lead our New York office. This dual role combines high-level technical expertise with strategic leadership and business development. The successful candidate will oversee office operations, manage engineering projects, mentor staff, and serve as the primary representative of the firm in the New York market.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering & Technical Leadership

  • Lead, manage, and review design and engineering work on civil/structural projects.

  • Ensure technical accuracy, quality control, and compliance with local codes and standards.

  • Provide guidance on complex engineering challenges and serve as a subject-matter expert.

  • Oversee project budgets, schedules, and deliverables.

Office & People Leadership

  • Direct and manage day-to-day operations of the New York office.

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop engineering and administrative staff.

  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture that supports employee growth.

  • Implement company policies, procedures, and strategic initiatives at the office level.

Business Development & Client Relations

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships to support repeat business and referrals.

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the New York region.

  • Represent the firm at industry events, networking opportunities, and professional organizations.

  • Prepare and present proposals, qualifications packages, and client presentations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred).

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in New York required.

  • 10+ years of progressive engineering and leadership experience in the AEC industry.

  • Proven track record of successful project management and client development.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to balance technical project responsibilities with office management and business growth.
